BEING MUM /FASHION
Just found out you are pregnant? The first two months
It’s mind blowing finding out that you are pregnant. I know that I had lots of questions and concerns. Well, I have recorded all my experiences for all you Glampop mums to be!
I had done pregnancy tests before and I was anticipating the usual boring single line, indicating that I was not pregnant, so when a second line appeared I couldn’t help but call out some rather shocked ramblings of; ‘What? No! Can’t be! Yes? WOW!’ (see advert for ‘Answer’) I then have to admit that emotion got the better of me and I sank to my knees and cried. My second thoughts were; ‘Uh oh! What about the alcohol and cigarettes I have been merrily consuming?’ I was concerned that my recent partying would have affected the early development of my unborn child.
So, once I’d pulled myself together, I went straight to the shops to buy myself a book on pregnancy (see advert for pregnancy book)
When I first went to the doctor, I just wanted her to tell me, in her professional opinion, that yes, I was officially pregnant. But no, she was happy to go on the two (yes two – just to make sure!) home pregnancy tests I had done.(see advert for ‘Answer’) Then, after many congratulations, my doctor handed me the first pack, which would start me on the rollercoaster of lifestyle changes I would now need to make.
So, what are the basic changes? Well, to look after your little Glampopper the best that you can, you need to avoid certain food and drink – and yes, this does include lots of the fun stuff!
• Alcohol
• Soft and blue cheese
• Unpasteurised dairy
• Undercooked meat
• Runny eggs
• Shellfish
• Peanuts
• Liver
The dynamic clothing range by GWKG
has been made to accentuate the sensual features of a woman - helping
her to look sexy and exude confidence at the same time.
Now there may be other things your doctor specifies but this is the basic list. It may seem difficult to remember but once you’ve got your head around the reasons behind the foods it becomes second nature – it really does, believe me! Well alcohol is just the sacrifice all you mums – to - be are going to have to make I’m afraid, but look at the bright side, in nine months time it will probably only take you one glass before you’re partying on the dance floor! The soft cheese, unpasteurised dairy, undercooked meat, runny eggs and shellfish could cause infection, so just remember that everything needs to be safe and heat treated or really well cooked. Peanuts and liver seem like the odd ones out but peanuts could give your little Glampopper an allergy and liver is just too full of iron.
However, the good news is you can eat lots of things guilt free such as; cheddar, milk, pasta, bread, scrambled eggs and some biscuits are recommended for morning sickness – so enjoy!
The next bit of advice the doctor gave me was to take folic acid supplements, specifically for pregnant women.(see advert for Pregnacare)
The third month My guess
is that there's not going to be much of a storyline, if you know
what I mean!
No really. They want models to appear in a GWKG movie, to be directed
by Miguel Delgado. Open Castings are being held during parties -
there are a few planned for Ft Lauderdale (US) this April. See the
website for more details.
