Beautiful Days is the Levellers festival which takes place at Escot Park in the heart of Devon each year. its now seven years old, Beautiful Days is a wicked family music festival with five stages.

It’s a perfect festival for all sorts, family, couples or friends.
I went on a stag party to the festival and we had no problems fitting in, great beers and food on site, I would recommend though when you do finally go back to the tent go to sleep, the families around do not really appreciate the noise, but you can understand that.
What to take with you:
Bearing in mind that a long walk from your car park or from the bus drop off points is unavoidable we would recommend that you travel reasonably light. Most of the festivals have plenty of markets and traders who are keen to supply all sorts of goodies to the festival goers stuck on site for at least 2 days but not surprisingly the prices in the festivals are going to higher than in the real world. Having said that here is a list of what we consider to be necessary items that everyone should take with them:
- Tent – the bigger the better (especially if it’s wet). Best size 2/3 man dome tents, however the range of tents/canvas arrangements you will see on site is amazing but many would cause distress to any boy scouts amongst you.
- Sleeping Bag
- Torch – a must to avoid the killer guy ropes, take that from me I had some fun trips back to the tent
- Loo Roll – You dont want to get stuck out with that one
- Matches/Lighter
- Water Container
- Sun Block/Lotion
- Rain Proof Anorak – English weather is pretty bad
- Hefty Boots/Trainers/Wellingtons – I went for Wellingtons as they are the cheapest option.
- One Complete Change of Clothing – For the rainy days
- Toiletries – soap, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste and a small towel.
- Medication – Headache pills, inhalers, hayfever pills etc.
- Money – There are often cash machines on site at the bigger events, but usually accompanied by huge queues.
- Condoms – keep it safe ladies and gents!
You can buy your camping gear, accessories and tents online from Joe Bananas and collect them at the festival which is a really cool idea, especially if you want to travel there light.

Or even better hire a handmade tipi or yurt for the weekend.
